08.10.2008 APLR, NAPR and ABG Sign MOU


              

Tbilisi – On October 7, 2008, Association for Protection of Landowners’ Rights (APLR) signed Memoranda of Understanding with National Agency of Public Registry (NAPR) and Association of Banks of Georgia (ABG) for further development of real property survey and valuation fields. MOU were signed at the presentation of real property surveyors’ and appraisers’ professional certification programs.

 

With the assistance from the USAID’s SME Support Project, APLR has been implementing real estate surveyors’ and appraisers’ professional certification programs aimed at ensuring real estate market with professional services.

 

APLR, together with highly qualified experts, has already elaborated real estate surveyors’ and appraisers’ professional training and certification programs. Participation in these programs will enable interested persons to get theoretical knowledge, acquire practical skills and get surveyor’s or appraiser’s profession.

 

Vakhtang Lezhava, First Deputy Minister for Economic Development, David Amaglobeli, President of National Bank of Georgia, Jaba Ebanoidze, Chairman of NAPR, Zurab Gvasalia, President of ABG highly praised APLR certification programs. It was mentioned that elaboration of these programs and commencement of real property surveyors’ and appraisers’ certification is the step forward economic development of the country; It is especially important to enhance joint efforts for advancing international standards in respective fields, ensure high precision survey and valuation of real property in compliance with internationally  recognized standards. 

 

According to Den Berkshire, chief of party of SME Support Project, certification programs are especially important for the improvement of business and investment climate in Georgia and respectively for the attraction of foreign investors.
